Tochi is a Melbourne-based energy assessment workshop run by Jeremy Wells, a registered architect and accredited NatHERS Home Energy Rating Assessor with a passion for re-imagining existing spaces and materials. After working as a bicycle mechanic and solar panel installer, Jeremy started his architectural career at Light House Architecture & Science, an innovative firm designing highly efficient homes in Canberra’s challenging climate. Upon moving to Melbourne in 2017, Jeremy began working as a project manager for a home builder, where he widened his skills and knowledge to encompass cost-estimating, subcontractor management, materials procurement and hands-on carpentry. In 2021, Jeremy established Tochi Workshop so that he could combine his expertise in architecture, building and thermal performance modelling to help clients create more comfortable and energy efficient homes.

Why Tochi

NatHERS energy rated home

Our mission is to help our clients build enduring homes in a resourceful and environmentally friendly way.

What makes us unique

We don’t just tick the boxes to get a project across the line. We work with you to optimise energy efficiency in the most cost-effective way possible, guided by our understanding of architecture and construction realities. The process is iterative and we take the time to answer your questions and model options you want to explore. Every energy assessment comes with a report detailing room-by-room energy performance and an outline of recommendations tailored to your particular project.
